![]() ![]() It’s doing an excellent job of running Plex for 4K films and playing videos from Tidal with good sound output Too.Īny help from an experienced user appreciated. The trained network lives inside the Tegra X1 Plus processor and can upscale any video - from standard 480p to 1080p - to 4K. Does the NS pick the appropriate bit depth for my TV or am I supposed to pick one depending on what’s being played?Īpart from those questions. That seems appropriate for Netflix but what if I run a film via Plex at 24 Hz in HDR? Will the NS sort it out automaticall? In custom Display Modes there are a choice of 85 modes. ![]() Do you have to keep adjusting the resolution, depending on what you are watching or is it automated? For instance, my resolution says 4K 59.940 Hz DV ready & HDR10 ready. I would have thought it could only cause confusion to the TV. If you set AI up scaling on the NS, how does it impact the ups calling from the TV when you watch a 4K movie using Plex etc. I’m setting up my new Shield and have been unable to find the answers to a couple of questions that I have. maybe up there with the 203, not 100% sure yet, but it does Plex, Netflix and Amazon all very well, the last 2 with DV as obviously Plex has no DV, but now rather than clunking through the 203 menus to watch both DV and non DV content, I’ve now gone back to only watching it for DV rips. Now changed my 2017 to a 2019 last week as saw it come back into stock and wanted to try it, wow the picture is better than my 2017 by quite a way I think. So casual watching local content the Shield get used, but if I’m setting it up and watching a good even non DV film I’ll fire up the 203. So later tested the 203 with non DV content, realised it’s picture quality was much better, but interface still clunky, ok for me, but not the family. Then got the Oppo 203, used it mainly for DV rips, which was great and now meant I used 3 devices. Later got an ATV4K as that did Netflix and Amazon better with DV / ATMOS etc, so then used 2 devices. I did the same as you, used to use Shield all the time for everything, especially Plex and my own ripped films, worked very well and great interface. ![]() One word AI Upscaling, sorry that’s 2 words. ![]()
